Refund Policy
Last updated: July 2026
1. Our Merchant of Record
All payments for Etch are processed by Paddle.com Market Ltd, our merchant of record. Paddle handles checkout, billing, applicable VAT / sales tax, and payment support. Your card statement will show a charge from Paddle. Refunds are issued through Paddle to your original payment method.
2. 14-Day Money-Back Guarantee
If you are not satisfied with a purchase, you can request a full refund within 14 days of the charge. This applies to:
- Your first Pro subscription payment (monthly or yearly)
- A subscription renewal charge, if requested within 14 days of that renewal
- The Lifetime plan (one-time purchase)
Refunds outside the 14-day window are considered case by case — reach out and we'll do our best to find a fair outcome.
3. Cancelling a Subscription
You can cancel your subscription at any time from the app's billing settings. Cancelling stops future charges; you keep Pro access until the end of the period you already paid for. Cancellation on its own does not trigger a refund — use the process below if you also want your last charge refunded within the 14-day window.
4. How to Request a Refund
Either of these works:
- Reply to your Paddle receipt email or use the link in it — Paddle handles the request directly.
- Contact us via our contact page with the email you used at checkout, and we'll initiate the refund for you.
Approved refunds are returned to your original payment method, typically within 5–10 business days depending on your bank.
5. After a Refund
When a refund is issued, your account returns to the Free plan. Your decks, cards, and study progress are never deleted — you keep everything the Free plan includes.
6. Consumer Rights
Nothing in this policy limits statutory rights you may have under the consumer protection laws of your country, including withdrawal rights in the EU and UK.
7. Fair Use
We reserve the right to decline refunds in cases of abuse, such as repeated purchase-and-refund cycles or violations of our Terms of Service.
