Terms of Service
Last updated: July 2026
1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using Etch ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
2. Description of Service
Etch is a web-based flashcard application for studying with spaced repetition. Cards can be created manually, imported from Notion, or added by AI agents you connect. The core studying features are free; certain features are available under paid plans as described on our pricing page.
3. Plans, Billing & Payments
Paid plans (Pro monthly, Pro yearly, and Lifetime) are sold by Paddle.com Market Ltd, our merchant of record. Paddle handles checkout, billing, and applicable VAT / sales tax. By purchasing, you also agree to Paddle's terms.
Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period until cancelled. You can cancel at any time from the app's billing settings; you keep paid access until the end of the period already paid for. The Lifetime plan is a one-time purchase and does not renew.
Plan quotas (such as monthly AI image generations and Notion card imports) reset each calendar month. We may adjust plan features or pricing going forward; changes never retroactively reduce a period you have already paid for.
Refunds are handled according to our Refund Policy.
4. User Accounts
You must sign in with a Google account to use the Service. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your Google account.
You may only maintain one active session at a time. Signing in on a new device will end your previous session.
5. Notion Integration
By connecting your Notion workspace, you authorize Etch to read content from pages you share with our integration.
Etch is not affiliated with or endorsed by Notion Labs, Inc. Notion is a trademark of Notion Labs, Inc.
We are not responsible for any changes to the Notion API that may affect the Service's functionality.
6. Acceptable Use

7. Content Ownership
You retain ownership of all content you import from Notion or create within the Service. We do not claim any rights to your flashcard content.
8. Limitation of Liability
The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We are not liable for any data loss, service interruptions, or damages arising from your use of the Service.
9. Termination
We reserve the right to terminate or suspend your account at any time for violation of these terms. You may delete your account at any time through the Settings page.
